Best Best & Krieger LLP attorney Gregory Rodriguez gave a presentation last month on automated vehicles and the opportunities to bridge the contracting gap between the public and private sector. His presentation was through a monthly Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and the Law Meet-Up event. In addition to providing an overview of federal, state and local regulations concerning automated vehicles, the presentation also offered procurement suggestions for automated vehicle pilot projects to enhance opportunities for collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Topics include: a federal overview and draft Congressional legislation, actions being taken by states and local governments, legal and policy issues around pilot projects and discussion around “innovating” contracting and bridging the public-private gap.
